8 July 2021 – SP&F Committee (chair) – the future of the Springfield Golf Course was missing from the Agenda and she unilaterally decided, without a vote, that the future of the Springfield Golf Course would not be discussed or voted upon in the near future. In effect, she proceeded as if the Shirley Trumper motion had passed and signaled that the Council would not be making a decision for a couple of years. She prevented the SP&F committee from considering the new information presented to Council by Cr Macpherson which undermined the Council’s “key drivers” for the Westbrook Sports Precinct. 🙁🙁🙁
28 June 2021 – Council meeting – voted forShirley Trumper’s motion & gave an assurance that in the event the Trumper motion was lost the matter of the future of the Springfield Golf Course would definitely come to the Strategy Policy & Finance Committee. 🙁
18 May 2021 – SP&F Committee – voted for Shirley Trumper’s motion: That the discussion on the future of the Springfield Golf Course be deferred until such time as a full assessment is conducted by Council on a future sports facility that is fit for purpose to meet the future needs of the Rotorua community to go out for full consultation at the appropriate time. 🙁
